Sunstone

0

Sunstone is a member of the Feldspar family, and is named for its warm shades of gold, orange, reds and browns that sparkle like the sun. Inclusions of Goethite or Hematite refract light between the different crystal layers and produce an iridescent effect as the stone is viewed from various angles. Sunstone may be clear and transparent, or opaque, and is readily available on the market. Clean red specimens, however, are rare. Typical colours – grey, green, yellow, brown, orange, pink, peach, red.

Sunstone warms the body, increasing metabolism, digestion, and vitality. It stimulates self-healing powers, regulating and harmonizing all of the organs. [Ahsian, 388][Hall, 284][Gienger, 84]

Sunstone is used to treat chronic sore throats, and to reduce stomach tension and ulcers. Placed on the Solar Plexus, it is excellent for lifting depression and Seasonal Affective Disorder, and is helpful in chasing away nightmares. [Megemont, 173][Eason, 116][Melody, 629][Hall, 284]

Since ancient times, Sunstone has been used as a grid around the body to relieve cartilage problems, rheumatism, and general aches and pains. Today it is also used to treat osteoarthritis, cramps, fever, various infections, and athletic injury. [Megemont, 173][Melody, 629][Hall, 284]

Howlite

0

Howlite is composed of hydrous calcium borate and is opaque. Howlite is generally white to cream with fine grey or black veining. It often forms in nodules which resemble cauliflower heads. Howlite is used for cabochons, decorative objects, beads, small carvings or jewelry components.

Howlite is also known by the names White Buffalo, Sacred Buffalo, Lapis Howlite, White Turquoise, Silico Boro Calcite and Kaolinite. It was named after the 19th century mineralogist Henry How who first discovered it in Nova Scotia.

The most notable location of Howlite is Canada, specifically in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and New Brunswick. But it can also be found in the USA, Russia, Germany, Mexico, Namibia, Pakistan, and Turkey.

Howlite is frequently dyed in such colors as red, green, blue, purple etc. The dyeing doesn’t affect the healing properties of howlite. Some traders dye howlite and sell it as turquoise or other semiprecious crystals.

Howlite balances calcium levels in the body. It aids teeth, bones and soft tissue. Helpful in cases of osteoporosis.

It can help cure insomnia when you use it as a gem elixir before going to bed. It can also act as a pain reliever for cramps and other forms of physical pains.

It has been known to aid in the treatment of anxiety disorders and other stress-related illnesses.

Just like Celestite, this stone is good for the endocrine and circulatory system. It can also boost your skin health!

It’s a great memory enhancer and mood stabilizer. It can also improve your learning abilities, especially if you’re suffering from ADHD.

Why New Jerusalem?

0

My belief is that God created everything, and seldom for only one purpose. That belief in the Bible account dramatically colors my views about history. I believe the Bible is the standard to which historical accounts should be compared. The philosophies of the world have evolved into a human-centric view of history. Today with the theory of evolution being promoted, people are taught that we evolved out of the ooze and that this life is all there is, so live it up until you die. The evolutionary theory teaches that man started out primitive and has evolved to a higher level. The Bible teaches that man was created perfect and degenerated after sin entered the world. Therefore the civilizations that existed before the Flood was likely to even be more advanced than our own today. The only hint we have of this possibility are glimpses of archaeological surprises over the years.

When I read about the foundation stones in the New Jerusalem, at first all I thought was that these foundations were for beauty with all the varied colors. But one theologian many years ago mentioned that the foundation stones 1) created a natural rainbow under/around the Holy City, and 2) were all quartz stones and there were many things we could learn by studying them.

As I learned about quartz and its energy properties, I came across various cultures that used these stones in their rituals of healing and worship. I didn’t want to mix with any of the trappings of a false religion, but I found it interesting that these stones have always been considered valuable for healing and for energy.

Some people believe the New Jerusalem is like a giant cube, with the same dimensions in all directions. Others, however, think it may be more accurately depicted as a pyramid, and they have wondered if the reason Satan has adopted the pyramid as a mystical symbol is that it’s part of his grand scheme to replace God and all He stands for. If God has a pyramid-shaped city in Heaven, Lucifer/Satan must have one as his symbol. If God has rainbows as his color scheme, the Enemy co-opts that for his own evil purposes.

Some believe the Great Pyramid at Giza was part of a network of “power stations” around the earth that were used to generate electrical energy, and that the building of the Tower of Babel after the Flood was an attempt to re-build the power grid that existed before. God intervened by confounding the languages of the people. That event separated the people into groups, probably family groups that gradually moved further from the area where they started. These family groups were the ancestors of the cultures in the different parts of the world. Each of the groups passed down to succeeding generations the stories of their history, and those naturally became distorted from one telling to the next. What we have around the world are people with one common ancestry, but each group becoming a new tribe, and culture.

Anyolite

0

Anyolite is the name used to describe the naturally occurring combination of Green Zoisite with deep red Ruby stone. The largest deposits of the lovely combination of Ruby Zoisite are in India, but it is also found in Zambia Africa. The Zoisite within the stone is primarily a clear medium green, and it combines well with the deep magenta-red of the ruby in the stone. This mineral has masses of prismatic crystals that combine the physical properties of zoisite and ruby. Its zoisite composition becomes the base while its ruby properties are scattered throughout the structure.

Anyolite improves circulation and quality of the blood, and heart disorders. It aids in recovery from disorders associated with diminished physical vitality. Anyolite has a number of very helpful healing attributes, including helping to increase fertility. They are known as healing crystals that will particularly help cancer sufferers. These stones are said to aid you if you have had chemotherapy or radiation treatment. Ruby in Zoisite assists those with adrenal fatigue or fainting spells, and with immune problems including chronic fatigue syndrome.

This will aid problems within the physical heart, stimulate an inactive thyroid, and bring general healing within the body.

Iolite

0

Leif Eriksson and other Viking explorers who ventured far out into the Atlantic Ocean, away from any coastline that would help determine position, used thin pieces of Iolite as the world’s first polarizing filter. Looking through an Iolite lens, they could determine the exact location of the sun and navigate safely to the New World and back. [ICGA]

A property called pleochroism is very pronounced in Iolite, producing different colors when the stone is seen through different positions. Overall, Iolite appears as violet-blue or indigo, but in different positions may shift to a yellow-gray or honey color, and even to a clear light blue. It is also referred to as “Water Sapphire” or Dichroite. Iolite’s name comes from the Greek ios, meaning violet, and is the gem version of the mineral Cordierite.

Iolite is a magnesium aluminium silicate and appears as grey, pale to dark blue, violet and colourless crystals. Iolite exhibits dichroism (an ability to change colour when viewed from different angles). It can show as three different colour shades in the same stone.
The major sources of the gemstone come from Sri Lanka, India, Madagascar and Myanmar.

Iolite is helpful in improving your eyesight. It will also help if you are directionally challenged. Use it when you are trying to find your way. Iolite deflects the electromagnetic waves from cell phone, tvs and computers. If you work with these items everyday keep iolite on your person constantly. It stimulates the memory and assists with sleep imbalances.

Iolite creates a strong constitution, ridding the body of fatty deposits. It diminishes the effect of alcohol and supports detoxification and regeneration of the liver. Treats malaria and fevers, and kills bacteria. Iolite aids the pituitary, sinuses and respiratory system. Alleviates migraines.

Iolite is credited with supporting a stronger than normal constitution and is said to enable one to consume alcohol without exhibiting the effects, promotes detoxification, and improves degenerated conditions of the liver. It also reduces fatty deposits in the body. [Melody, 336][Hall, 148]

Iolite is used in regulating digestion, and enhances hair and nail growth. [Megemont, 96]

Iolite strengthens the nerves, helps with paralysis and numb limbs, and tolerating pain. [Gienger, 32] It has been used to treat malaria and other fever-producing disorders. [Melody, 336]

Iolite may assist in healing of the eyes, migraines and headaches, disorientation and dizziness, and Meniere’s disease. It also stimulates memory, and prevents insomnia, nightmares or sleep disturbances. [Eason, 377][Ahsian, 207]

Sapphire

0

Sapphire is a variety of Corundum, an aluminum oxide mineral that forms in prismatic tabular, bipyramidal or rhombohedral crystals, as well as granular or massive habits, and may be transparent to opaque.

Blue is considered Sapphire’s “true” color and the one most often recognized, though Sapphire does form in a diversity of colors (listed below), and will have the color added to its name (for example: Green Sapphire, Yellow Sapphire). Additional mineral compounds forming with aluminum oxide are responsible for the different coloration, and in the case of Blue Sapphire, iron and titanium provide its heavenly hues. With the exception of Red Corundum, which is Ruby, all other colors of Corundum are Sapphires. [Mella, 103][Simmons, 339]

Blue Sapphire ranges in hue from pale to deep azure or dark royal blue, to indigo, with the most highly desired color being the velvety cornflower blue, also called Kashmir or bleu de roi. The name Sapphire is derived from the Latin sapphirus, Greek sappheiros, and Sanskrit sanipryam, meaning “blue stone.” Recent research indicates what we know today as Lapis Lazuli was also referred to as Sapphire in the ancient world, and much of the Sapphire described in the Bible and other texts would have actually been Lapis Lazuli. [Fernie, 96, 102, 104][Megemont, 162][Mella, 21, 37, 103][Eason, 247]

Sapphire is a variety of the mineral corundum. It is a precious gemstone. Sapphire is a 5th and a 45th Anniversary gemstone.

Sapphire treats blood disorders, combatting excessive bleeding and strengthening the walls of the veins. It is used for cellular disorders, regulates the glands and calms overactive body systems.

Blue Sapphire assists in healing all parts of the body and soothes insomnia. Used externally or as an elixir, Sapphire water is considered a good purifier and should be used as the seasons change. [Melody, 585][Megemont, 163]

Long used as a curative for eye infections and improving eyesight, Blue Sapphire is also used to relieve headaches, fever, nosebleeds, and issues of the ears, including hearing, infection, inner-ear imbalances and vertigo. [Megemont, 163][Ahsian, 340][Eason, 247]

Blue Sapphire is beneficial to the thyroid, swollen glands and in treating problems related to speech and communication. It is also considered helpful to the nervous system, and in treating blood disorders, dementia, and degenerative diseases. [Hall, 253][Eason, 247][Gienger, 77]

Tridacna

0

Tridacna is the most white substance in the world, it is also a rare organic gemstone. It’s made from a large clam shell and is known for looking like white porcelain.

Tridacna Shell – heals, protects and offers calming properties. Wearing tridacna jewelry will enhance the magnetic field of human body

Kyanite

0

Kyanite is an aluminum silicate mineral, often occurring as long, striated bladed crystals that may be transparent or translucent with a pearly sheen. The most common colors in metaphysical use are blue streaked with white, indigo, green, and black, though Kyanite may occur in white, gray, pink, yellow, and most recently discovered orange. Kyanite comes from the Greek work, kuanos or kyanos, meaning “deep blue,” and was once commonly called Disthene, which means “two strengths.” It is also known as Rhaeticide and Cyanite. Its most identifiable feature is its anisotropism, the ability to cleave perfectly in two directions with two distinctly different hardnesses on the perpendicular axes. [Simmons, 223][Wikipedia.org]

Kyanite is valuable in the industrial world for heat resistance, used in high refractory porcelain, refractory bricks, mortars, kiln furniture and foundry molds, in the auto and railroad industries for brake shoes, grinding wheels and cutting disks, and in the standard porcelain of dentures, sinks and bathroom fixtures. Kyanite crystals that are highly transparent and attractive in color can be cut into cabochon and faceted gemstones, and are considered to be “exotic” gems. [Geology.com]

Like Citrine, Kyanite is one of the two minerals on the planet that neither accumulates nor retains negative energy, and therefore never needs cleansing.

Kyanite provides a balancing of the yin-yang energies, dispelling blockages and moving energy from the ethereal plane through the physical body. It can be used during radionic analysis, and is a beneficial stone to place between the heart and navel chakras during the “lay-on-of-stones” healing activities. [Melody, 364]

Kyanite helps nerves and tissues reestablish pathways through and around intrusive traumas, such as broken bones, surgery and other severe injury. It is said to be a natural pain reliever. It also creates new neural pathways to heal the brain after head trauma, seizure or stroke. [Ahsian, 225] It is particularly supportive of the motor responses and dexterity of the body, and in regaining speech. [Gienger, 34][Hall, 168][Eason, 225]

Kyanite can be used in the treatment of disorders associated with the muscular and urogenital system, adrenal glands, throat, thyroid and parathyroid. [Melody, 364][Hall, 167] It alleviates hoarseness, and problems of the larynx. [Gienger, 34]

Chrysoberyl

0

Chrysoberyl is a beryllium aluminium oxide mineral that belongs to the oxide and hydroxide class of minerals. appears as trilling or twinned hexagonal crystals. Despite the similarity of their names, chrysoberyl and beryl are two completely different gemstones.

The three main varieties of chrysoberyl are:

  • Chrysoberyl  is a yellow-to-green transparent to translucent crystal.
  • Alexandrite is one of the rare color change crystals and is translucent
  • Cymophane (cat’s eye)  is fibrous and translucent. This is the only stone that can just be called cats eye, all other cats eye crystals must have the name of the crystal included such as cat’s eye tourmaline or cat’s eye quartz or even cat’s eye selenite.

Yellow-green chrysoberyl was referred to as “chrysolite” during the Victorian and Edwardian eras, which caused confusion since that name has also been used for the mineral olivine/peridot, that name is no longer used.

Chrysoberyl helps to highlight the cause of dis-ease. It supports self-healing. Chrysoberyl balances adrenaline and cholesterol, and fortifies the chest and liver.

When chrysoberyl is used with other crystals it will highlight the cause of a disease. This stone supports self healing, balances the adrenal glands and balances the cholesterol levels in the body. Chrysoberyl enhances the healing of chest and liver complaints. This stone is helpful in reducing the physical side effects of being paralyzed. Working well with the digestive system, chrysoberyl will settle stomach problems, heal the liver, reduce skin problems and allergies relating to this system.

Onyx

0

Onyx is a black and white banded variety of Chalcedony, a cryptocrystalline form of Quartz with dense, fibrous layers and a hardness of 7. It is also defined as a black and white banded Agate, also a variety of Chalcedony. They differ only in that Onyx’s alternating layers are parallel to one another while Agate’s layers are curved and more chaotic.

While many think of Onyx as a solid black stone, the term refers to the Chalcedony banded black and white. A variant form in which white layers of Onyx alternate with Sard (a reddish-brown Chalcedony) is called Sardonyx. Both have been known and utilized for over 4,000 years for hardstone carving, stone inlay, and jewelry, treasured most for their use in intaglio seals and cameo engraved gems where the white bands are carved away to make the image contrast with the dark background. In some specimens black Onyx may be layered with Sard, and in many cases material may be a combination of all three. [en.wikipedia.org][Fernie, 314]

References to Onyx and other closely related stones are found in many ancient cultures and their texts, including the Bible, at times with conflicting definitions and an overlap in terminology.

Onyx gives strength. It promotes vigor, steadfastness and stamina. Imparts self-confidence, helping you to be at ease in your surroundings. Onyx treats disorders of the bones, bone marrow and blood. It is beneficial for teeth and the feet.

Onyx and Sardonyx are reputed to improve function of the nerves and enhance the sensory organs, especially those associated with the ear. They are believed to sharpen hearing, assist in problems or diseases of the inner ear, and aid in treatments for tinnitus. [Megemont, 138][Gienger, 63, 77][Hall En, 204]

Both Onyx and Sardonyx are credited with strengthening the immune system, providing stamina and vitality to the body, and preventing relapses after illnesses. They are thought to improve cell regeneration and the regulation of fluids, and to aid in the absorption of nutrients and elimination of wastes. [Gienger, 77][Simmons, 288][Eason, 199][Hall, 257][Hall En, 204]

Onyx is considered beneficial for the teeth and bones, and supports disorders relating to bone marrow and soft tissue structures. Onyx is particularly invigorating for the feet, and supports their connection to the Root Chakra. This may be helpful for those who suffer from weak legs, or have difficulty grounding excess energies. [Melody, 452][Hall, 207][Hall En, 219][Ahsian, 289][Eason, 199]
