Tourmaline Quartz, also known as Tourmalinated Quartz, is a variety of Clear Quartz with naturally occurring needle-like inclusions of Black Tourmaline, also known as Schorl. Tourmaline comes in a wide variety of colors. There are some Tourmaline stones that are colorless, and there are also blue, pink, yellow, and red Tourmalines. Other colors include reddish-purple, dark forest green, lime green, neon blue, light brown, and bluish black. Typical colours – Clear with needle-like crystals of Black Tourmaline.
A glassy, translucent stone, Carnelian is an orange-colored variety of Chalcedony, a mineral of the Quartz family. Its color varies from pale pinkish-orange to a deep rusty brown, though it is most known for its brilliant orange and red-orange crystals. Its name comes from a Latin word meaning “flesh.”
Sodalite is a tectosilicate mineral. Typical colours – Rich royal blue, green, yellow, violet: mottled with white veins or patches. Sodalite is quite young in gemstone years. The deep blue mineral gemstone was not discovered until 1806, when it was found in Greenland. Even after the discovery of sodalite mineral stones, sodalite did not really gain an appreciation as an ornamental gemstone until 1891. Large sodalite stone deposits were found at this time in Ontario, Canada. Other sodalite mineral stone deposits have since been found in Brazil, India, Namibia, Russia and in Montana in the United States.
